2015: A Karmic Year
A Global Perspective of 2015
The Need for a Decision
2015 is a year of directional energy that is filled to capacity for opportunity. In every situation that unfolds from 2015-2016 there is more opportunity for progression than in any year dating back to 2008. That is largely because all of the destructive forces of cardinal change that first began in 2008, are finally slowing down. I want you to be excited about this year but I feel that you may feel that you have lost so much already, that life has settled into a dull hum-drum of events that involves recovery, reflection and resolution. I do not blame you if you have this perspective. The past years have been tough for those of us with cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn from 0-15 degrees in our natal chart. The more planets that you have in your natal chart in these areas, the greater the trial designated to you by the universe. People have tried you, left you, shot you, and abused you in tragic situations that have destroyed some of your faith in the purpose of your life. From 2012-2015 the Pluto Uranus squares have continued raising moments when sanity is easily questioned. We have endured tension, anxiety and fear as we have either struggled to hold on, or fought for a way forward.
Many of you have realized that through these situations, you have been made aware that your purpose can no longer be ignored. Instead, you must contribute more in your daily life. There is a legacy to be born, a contribution to be made! Perhaps the cardinal changes have stoked you fires of beginning anew, yet for some of you, there is still something or someone that continues to drain you, preventing you from moving forward towards that purpose.
In the first quarter of 2015, there is one more major battle and it is another deeply psychological battle that asks the direction that you will take this year. We are all at a crossroads in life. Will you take that chance towards a new dream, a new life, and a new hope? Or will you continue to hold tight to those dark things that bring you comfort from time to time? Those people that you just can’t “fix”, the addictions, the guilt, the depression, the grief, the trauma. The list could go on. This is the aftermath of the tribulation of the seven years we have endured from 2008-2015. The final Armageddon awaits in 2015 demanding that you truly account for your own actions, that you rise in the fate of your own presence and that you make your final move from the old world into the new.
As we begin to take action on our plans for the future (finally), we are also being given a new lesson by Saturn. Saturn recently left Scorpio in December of 2014, and in January is forging ahead in Sagittarius, giving us a constructive influence that requires hard work for our biggest dreams. These lessons may seem daunting at first but I also believe that we will be given the hope, optimism and willingness to weld these dreams into reality. Saturn will work well with Jupiter in Leo for the first half of the year, and also will be in good aspect with Uranus for his entire stay in Sagittarius from 2014-2017. I have written a great deal about Saturn in your sign that you can access HERE.
An unrest of the mind is what I see unfolding from January throughout May of 2015. I always say that Aquarius is the ruler of the people, and while other astrologists may disagree, it works out that way every time. Aquarius humans network with large groups of people, so if we want to discern the psychological condition of events according to the masses, Aquarius is a great place to start. In January, we see “the people” conditioning themselves to come forward in preparation of hopes and dreams. Large amounts of communication take place and just as plans are getting under way near the new moon of January 20th, a familiar old enemy strikes again shortly after. It’s that devil from the past, Pluto Square Uranus, the one that is bound to make the people fearful, anxious and afraid. To top it off, people are confused as miscommunication races through media outlets, with electronic purchases and in general communication with one another. This is a bold time for people who are mentally ill, says the Mercury in Aquarius retrograde combined with Pluto square Uranus.
Tension and Revision
The Pluto/Uranus square is tightening its reigns towards the end of the month. Religious zealots, rioters, anyone who is radical for a cause, may provoke destruction during this time. This is told by the Aquarius Mercury retrograde from January 21st-February 11th, which may cause mass communication as people of all signs struggle to discern the direction that they should proceed in according to their own wounds of humanity. Since the Mercury RX takes place in Aquarius and Aquarius’ ruler is Uranus (who by the way is currently ready to war with dark Pluto) from its position in fiery Aries, this is sure to be one heck of a retrograde. We are looking at possible mass amounts of communication disruptions, wars and rioting initiated due to misunderstandings, terrorist attacks across the internet, media or commutable transportation. This is a global phenomenon yet it is personable and we should view it that way. In our daily business, communication and commute, we must expect delays. Exercising an air of caution when traveling should be a priority. Neptune is also running with Mars in the last two weeks of January, which decreases visibility around the wrong doings of others and can make our thoughts and actions seem extremely hard to attend to.
As the retrograde seeps into February, we may really have a hard time becoming attentive due to the chaos around us, as Venus in Pisces, prefers us to seek peace-or at the least, we are lost in our dreams and spiritual connections. Mercury turns direct on the 11th but it really begins to move forward from the 15th. Remember, it is best not to file taxes, sign contracts, begin new business ventures, or buy electronics during this time. Again, I feel as though anything to do with technology has the possibility to be affected by this retrograde-doubly so because it is Aquarius/Uranus ruled.
Armageddon: What exactly are you fighting for? After all of the battles of the past 7 years, who are you now? Maybe the question really is, ARE YOU READY?
March 1st through the 8th Mars, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are working together progressing love, spending, travel and communication. These dates are going to be choice dates for making decisions, and add a great deal of excitement and optimism. On the 5th, Venus will conjunct Uranus offering a plethora of surprises in love, foreign affairs and purchases. The Pisces sun is also working well with Pluto during this time (1st through the 8th) allowing intuition to guide us seamlessly. I really feel that this is a great time for taking action on plans that involve partnerships, be they business or personal. There will certainly be some goodies given to “the people” during that time!
March 14th- sees the Saturn turn retrograde, so that the shadow will be felt up to two weeks before. This is a time of tension for some, but at least you may feel that something that wasn’t finished or completed requires your attention. Saturn retrograde can also produce hazardous conditions and some souls choose this point to cross over. For most however, this backdrop of the nagging life’s “to-do list” is going to add pressure to the big changes of the eclipses that are soon to come shortly after. You have from now until August 2nd to complete what still needs to done, so work hard so that Saturn will leave you a gift as he finally speeds forward into Sagittarius. Yes, Saturn teaches us as he moves through a sign, but if we have worked hard, his reward gift as he leaves the sign is more valuable than gold.
On March 20th, a solar eclipse takes place at 29 degrees of Pisces. Eclipses remind me of points of fate, as they are bundles of energy that speed the acceleration of the growth of personal consciousness, speeding up time through events that may see “fated.” As we prepare for these points of fate, we can only reach forward to determine the factors of subject quality presented by the stars according to Astrological translation. The March eclipse brings the finality of financial spending or contracts for “the people.” Yet, it is on the cusp of Aries, which will initiate brand new communication that may be related to new technologies. The eclipse breathes the spiritual energy of the voice of the angels in preparation of a new beginning! Still, this the 29th degree and is called an Anaretic degree in Astrology, signifying a point that requires a major, difficult decision to be made. As this is a solar eclipse, the decision that you have to make may come before the next lunar eclipse which will be April 4th. This marks the two week period from March 20-April 4th as a serious decision making time that will have ripple effects over the next six months.
Dear friends, I hope that I am overreacting in regard to the Spring but I also do not want to belittle it’s significance. The lunar eclipse at 14 degrees of Aries appears two weeks past the solar eclipse on April 4th and presents a reaction, perhaps to the decision that was made. Lunar eclipses alone produce emotional reactions and are often related to females, family, health (especially of females) and home related issues. Often times at a lunar eclipse, a female is removed from our lives. Relationships that are not strong, suffer through lunar eclipses and many come to an end. If a person with specific planets aligned with the effecting degrees of the eclipse has been ill, news of a relapse or even death may take place.
This eclipse is THE real finale of the cardinal changes and worthy of the discussion of possible global and personal outcomes. Remember, that as with March, Pluto and Uranus are near exact square positions with Pluto at 15 degrees of Capricorn and Uranus now at 16 degrees of Aries. The lunar eclipse will conjunct Uranus, and square Pluto. This signifies that a direct forceful occurrence takes place in favor of change. The eclipse shows us that the emotions are attached to the need to break free, and while Pluto tries to hold the energy back, there is going to be a way out. I say this because this rebel, emotional lunar eclipse is trine to Jupiter in Leo which opens the door to faith, travel, optimism, blessings of abundance, and adventure. Jupiter is still retrograde, however, suggesting that there an element from last fall that may find its way into the importance of the struggle that this eclipse brings. Mercury, The Messenger, is also loosely conjunct this eclipse adding the elements of travel, media, and communication to the mix.
The eclipse may play out like this: A sudden disruption from the place that Aries rules in your chart comes as an emotional conversation, event or situation. Aries is known as the warrior sign and is really fond of laying the cards on the table. This event, person or situation has plenty of courage and means business as shown by the Jupiter trine. Another character or situation emerges as told by Pluto’s square in Capricorn. Someone or something is causing resistance to this emotional situation, or preventing the direct outcome, for which causes this eclipse to become increasingly emotional. IF you, are fighting for change, then I do believe that this eclipse has the power to help you break free from whatever is holding you down. We are allowed to have free will, so use it to your best advantage BEFORE the eclipse arrives; make plans and get it all in place. This is important because there will be one aspect of this eclipse that you have no control over, says Uranus conjunct the eclipse.
This may be a new event but I believe that for many of us, the characters are the same. Those same old emotional commitments that we keep battling as we contemplate a better life. For those of you in relationships that are affected by the cardinal signs of Cancer, Libra, Aries or Capricorn, I hope that you will begin to break free from the chains that bind you. If, not, you may be bound for a few more years. This eclipse is really the open door of opportunity, it dramatically reveals to you the way out. Use the bravery of Leo and Aries and climb out of this cry fest into a better future. That situation that some of you are holding on to has expired. Some of you are holding on for money, for fame, for security, for longevity—you name it, you think you can fix it, benefit from it, be happy with it. Yet, it is that very thing that drains you that will prevent total happiness in the end no matter how much you give your blood to achieve with it. There are times in life when we have to clear the slate and begin again.
I will tell you a secret. I have Pluto trine the Sun in my chart and yet, it is square to the Cancer moon, Saturn and natal Mars. As a result, my life has developed in sections of big emotional change and I can just about identify every 8 year period with changes that were previously not imaginable. Many people do not have such aspects in their chart and the Cardinal changes and tensions since 2008 have been so new and traumatic, that they felt cheated by life. The changes have been horrific for them and many are bitter. Friends, life is never easy but we can always find a harder situation if we look around us. One of the biggest messages that Cardinals have received from these changes is to look outside of oneself, to discover the value of weakness; to become compassionate and to not only learn from our own struggles but to commit to helping others with theirs.
April 22nd through the 28th- Venus will be working well with Uranus and Jupiter, and so sudden messages of love, short distance travel, and communication on the internet may all be little pockets of delight! If you need to smooth the tensions of the eclipse, these are sweet days to do so!
The Struggle for Achievement
After this eclipse settles down, there is going to be a huge relief felt as early as May. Pluto and Uranus will begin to spin apart, finally saying farewell to at least one great battle in your life. This Influence may not be felt right away, but over the course of the next year, you are going to notice a lot of stress reduction within your life. As Pluto is still in Capricorn, there will still be moments when lunar transits will bring about this powerful controlling player that we have all been subjected to, yet I believe that the noise factor will settle down significantly, especially as we move into 2016.
Just as things begin to simmer down, Mercury retrogrades in Gemini on May 18th which will last until June 11th. For the air signs of Libra and Aquarius, this may actually work out quite well. You will have to let me know! Mercury is ruler to both Gemini and Virgo, so dear Gemini and Virgo, if you have something to say or a situation to be finalized, you may find yourself rethinking your own thoughts and actions. This is also another strong Mercury retrograde so for everyone it is best to not sign contracts, begin anything new, or purchase electronics. Expect more delays, more conversations and yes, a few more arguments.
The month of May is a pretty exciting month as the planets, particularly Mars, Jupiter and Uranus continue to bring the fun! On the 14th and 15th, however, Mars will oppose Saturn, so be careful operating machinery during those dates, particularly heavy machinery. These days may be filled with a little depression or heaviness, but for most, will clear up thereafter. The 24th sees the sun opposition Saturn, so this will also be another heavy date when decisions and responsibilities may be made.
Mercury Direct, Saturn in Scorpio-The Final Lesson
The next month that I feel compelled to write about takes place in June. June 5th through the 10th will be full of surprises and offer an air of fun as the Gemini sun, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus cook up some happy dates that are perfect for exploration, travel, and reaching out to others.
Mercury will station direct on the 11th, but will begin to move forward another degree on the 16th. Saturn is still retrograde and sinks back down into Scorpio on the 16th as well to stay until September 18th, so I believe that this energy is really going to give some direction towards that project that you needed to finished, or a specific lesson in life that required more of your input. A breakthrough in communication may really push you forward to the next level of achievement in the area of your chart that Scorpio rules. If you read your individual sign for Saturn in Sagittarius, I reflect on what this retrograde means for you.
A blip on the radar screen from July 2nd through July 16th.
Full Moon Jul 2 ~9 degrees of Capricorn /New Moon Jul 16 ~ 23 degrees of Cancer
I am only writing about the significance of the above two moons as they fall into cardinal signs, depicting minor struggles that may take place between the new and full moons. The 9th degree of Capricorn moon on the 2nd represents a major issue of control in our lives that we battled for several years. Small remnants of past fears may arise, yet they have now become old ghosts that we have already overcome. By the new moon, “the people” are occupying themselves with work and health endeavors. This Cancer new moon marks a period of two weeks of nourishment, rest and service to others. For those of you with early cardinal signs, you may feel the heaviness of this two weeks the most.
Venus Retrograde in Leo: July 25-September 8th “The heart wants what it wants…” But it isn’t always what it needs.
Every other year, Venus the planet of love and beauty retrogrades. In fact, her last retrograde took place in the sign of Capricorn in December of 2013. When Venus retrogrades we are drawn back to old loves, old lives, and our “love vision” is completely skewed. It is also never wise to get a new beauty treatment during a Venus retrograde and is an absolute “No-No” for elective plastic surgery. (I am going to include Botox with that!) Venus rules money as well and all purchases that we make during a Venus retrograde end up lacking in some way.
Here is an example of a Venus Retrograde: Suppose a man who had moved on with his life and a new relationship was finally completely happy. Then around the time of the retrograde, he began to feel that his new relationship was lacking. His new love seemed to be ignoring him in some way and it was unsettling. After all, he had given up everything for this new life with her. Did he make the wrong choice? Enter the old girlfriend/spouse in the form of Venus retrograde. In a panic, the man leaves his new love and goes back to the comforts of an old relationship that all of a sudden seemed safer. After the retrograde, the blinders are lifted with Venus now functioning properly, the man cannot believe what he has done, so he leaves the old life for the new once again. Suppose the new love will not take him back; then the man realizes the value of change.
Hearts change and minds change after a Venus retrograde. If you meet someone new during the retrograde, please understand that you are not seeing them for who they really are. NEVER make a commitment during a Venus retrograde and it is best not to make any relationship decision during the retrograde. Instead, use this time to rehash conversations with your current love. If you are a single and an old flame comes around, do as you wish, but again, they may not be there once Venus stations direct.
Money investments, purchases, divorce settlements, etc.- please try to hold all of these finalities off until the retrograde is over. The only exception to this rule is when you might pick up an antique or find a valuable item at a Flea market. Keep in mind that retrogrades adore re-dos, revisions and remonstrations.
Saturn Direct: August 2nd Now or Never
Saturn is still in Scorpio, but now he at least is moving forward. From August 2nd through September 18th is really the final test of Saturn in Scorpio (2012-2015) before the real prize is delivered! Remember, you still haven’t received Saturn’s award for your lessons of the past two years! This is when the struggling poet makes his mark, strength becomes a characteristic, the book gets published, the coveted position earned, the diploma awarded, the socialite accepted. If you have worked hard during this transit, you have now established a new foundation for life. Grab that award, chances are those new credentials will be needed along the road to your new test. Perhaps after the Venus retro (ending September 8th) you will begin to know who is going with you after you accomplish your achievements!
Jupiter in Virgo-August 12th 2015 --September 9th 2016
As Jupiter, the planet of luck, expansion and abundance moves into Virgo, we finally receive some stability from Pluto for some of our personal goals. There is an element of organization involved in Jupiter in Virgo, but the organization improves freedom, expansion and hope. Virgo is a dutiful sign and Virgo suns are known to enjoy bookkeeping, housekeeping, hard work, and methodical reasoning. They have a plan and will work diligently to accomplish their goals. Jupiter’s entry here suggest that we all will reach a point in life to manage one area more efficiently. We will become builders, renovators and constructors of knowledge. However, Jupiter will at times be square to Saturn in Sagittarius, raising the flags of regulation within organizations of faith, travel and regulates the growth of organizations who would form structurally for radical purposes.
Still, with Jupiter in Virgo there seems to be enjoyment found from striving to obtain the fruits of our labor. As the planet of blessings moves through Virgo, it will see an opposition to Neptune as well, perhaps blinding us with purposeful intentions that may be blocked by Saturn’s harsher realities. Pluto, for once, is willing to cooperate and with the power of transformation behind our attempts to channel the energy of hardworking Virgo for growth, we will accomplish a great deal before the summer of 2016. A spiritual enrichment course will resonate the Jupiter opposition Neptune transit due mid-August through the beginning of October 2016.
The energy of Jupiter in Virgo is great for doing such activities that require revision. Virgo is a Mercury ruled sign, so projects that involve writing, traveling, learning and publishing, will fare well under the directive of this influence. This energy is best used for construction, methodically planning and plotting the perfect masterpiece, that becomes a voice of growth and opportunity.
For “the people” Jupiter in Virgo brings the essence of the Madonna, the speculation of sexual conquests compared to the innocence of nurturing children. It underscores our inner physical desires and yet, our need to commune with the pureness of The Divine. For some, addictions may find their way out of the darkness, first in excess, the later to be harnessed by the support of Pluto and the restriction of Saturn. The healing of loss becomes a theme and the privilege of life becomes a resonating force in 2015.
Again financial themes are present as well as the security of home and family. Jupiter will be in the 8th of the people, so there exists hope for matters involving divorce, debt, finances, death (change) and addiction. This is a deeply psychological house and old patterns of addiction may be healed within Jupiter’s transit here. The 8th is also representative of the sign of Scorpio which often presents fear, insecurities, jealousy and other negative thought patters. With Jupiter in this area, a measure of protection and healing then exists for those who experience anxiety, paranoia, panic attacks and other mental illnesses. At least, in speaking of the general population, we may find that new methods of approach to such matters become embedded as successful alternatives to medication.
Mercury Retrograde in Libra, September 17th- through October 9th
The 9th house of “the people” is activated by Mercury retrograde in Libra. Mixed messages, delays in communications, misspoken words will all be areas of chaos presented by this retrograde as foreign affairs, travel, government issues, legalities, the internet, media, publishing, vehicles will become subjects of confusion. The sign of Libra loves balance, beauty, harmony in relationships, so how we express our individual opinions really becomes a source for retrospection during this time. The shadow of this retrograde takes place just as the Venus retrograde is ending. There is something that has been discovered about the order of our relationships that is speculative in the sense that reorganization is needed perhaps in respect to the areas mentioned above. There is another chapter here, that needs more decisions, more recognition, and as told by Jupiter’s entry into Virgo, there are structures that still need to be built surrounding these situations.
The Fall Eclipses: A need for balance and caution (Relationships, resources, finances and security)
Solar Eclipse on September 12-20 degrees of Virgo
Lunar Eclipse on Spetember 28th at 4 degrees of Aries
On September 12th, a solar eclipse takes place at 20 degrees of Virgo, “The Virgin”, ushering in big changes regarding finances for “the people.” In fact, this entire eclipse speaks of issues related to debt, joint resources, death, divorce, change, trust and surgery. Mars is in the 12th of Virgo during the eclipse so an essence of secrets, hospitals, hidden enemies and charity help to structure the message of this eclipse. Mercury is sextile Venus during the eclipse so a message of love springs forward to comfort any global situations that may arise. This may also bid well for the economy, yet Mercury in Libra is directly square to Pluto in Capricorn, causing arguments with that controlling enemy globally and within our own personal lives. The US may find that private talks bid well with allies, yet open enemies may continue to plot their course. There may be good news for homeowners in the US but it seems to be a mixed bag considering health care issues. I am just reading the stars here, so I am naming the possibilities. These financial obligations may be the subject of conversation near eclipse time.
As you may know, solar eclipses are often active especially in the week, on or before the date of the eclipse. This particular eclipse will also receive another boost or revelation near the 31st of October-November 2nd as Mars, the action planet, crosses the eclipse degree. Because this eclipse is a solar eclipse and Mars is active up to a month later, I believe this eclipse may continue the global financial themes strongly for the next six months.
A lunar eclipse two weeks later on September 28th, at 4 degrees of Aries, states that if talks about debt, death, divorce, finances, joint resources, business ventures, insurance policies, or loans, do take place for “the people”, that they aren’t all well-received. While Pluto and Uranus are no longer in such a tight square, there is potential conflict for the unrest of “the people” as communication becomes a provision of networking that is required to have a new thought modality. We can no longer accept that new methodologies can have ambiguous designs, yet we must portray the thoughts of the mind with less of an ideological language. Throughout the past few years with Pluto square Uranus, people have been forced to acknowledge the values of both conservative and independent ideas, as they became more aware of the dangers of radical injustices. Mercury is in opposition to this eclipse from the 9th house of “the people” in Libra, suggesting that government frameworks, foreign affairs, and relationships are the key focal points of the emotional conversations to take place.
In our personal lives, we may need to continue to shake off the confinements of the past that are no longer working. Perhaps over the summer of 2015, when Saturn and Venus were both retrograde, the structures of our lives were once again up for review. This eclipse should help to remind us of why we continue to make certain decisions for the betterment of our future.
New Moon Oct 13 at 19 degrees of Libra
I am listing this New Moon in Libra as a potential opening for two weeks of struggle. This moon is hijacked by Uranus, planet of surprise, suggesting that a sudden event arises that we will have to deal with. This event falls in the 9th of the people, so again, foreign affairs, government, relationships, education, and balance are all themes that need adjustments. Because this two week period falls so closely with Mars conjunct the degree of the September eclipse (October 31), I feel that there may be an emergency situation that arises in the media perhaps pertaining to death, divorce, debt, insurance policies, and finances. I do feel the voice of “the people” rising up in indignation during this time. The Sabian symbol for this new moon is “The Robbers in Hiding.” The whole aura of this time period, to me, speaks of possible hidden enemies.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that between August and the end of October, there may be a need for mass vigilance in the areas of security and finance. This is a moment of Karma. Hidden enemies could abound. I don’t like to always sound as if I am the bearer of bad news, but I do feel that it is so important to allow complete transparency as we move forward together. There is also a beautiful spiritual undertone here that provides structure for growth through the realization of the delicate cycles of nature, loss and abundance. The words that we speak become consciously important and the struggle for freedom, a daily task. We are becoming more willing to work hard, to speak out and to define social injustice inside and outside of the parameters of radical violence. Love has become more defined, bold, yet beautifully engrained within the construction of personal freedoms.
At the end of November, Saturn is working well with Mars in Libra giving solid support to our projects and goals. Pluto will not be in a friendly position here, so there may still be rumblings of government organizations who are unwilling to change their outdated policies. This theme picks up through December, and also represents some points of tension, delays and blockages in this holiday month. Nothing too serious, but nevertheless, delays involving travel in the first two weeks may become an issue. December 7th and 8th may be a period of time when extra caution when traveling is required. A full moon at 3 degrees of Cancer, provides an atmosphere of a little tension but mainly seeks a nurturing warm fire that we may all want to curl up to.
From the end of December, Saturn in Sag is teaming up with Uranus in Aries. This, I am looking forward to! The beginning of 2016 will start with a bang, as we our new goals of 2015 receive a big boost of support. Dear friends, we will have accomplished so much in 2015. Whew! Pluto square Uranus will have slowly become and old memory, so we will be fresh with new purpose and new fire in 2016!
